My name is Nathan Williams, also known as NateDawg. I’m a web designer, system administrator and world explorer who is proud to call Seattle, WA home.

Who am I?

I’m guy who was born and raised in Seattle WA. I spend most of my time messing around with computers or doing outdoor activities and adventures. I love to play soccer, ultimate frisbee, go snowboarding, longboarding and hike through the hundreds to trails in western Washington. Unfortunately I don’t get outside nearly as much as I would like and the Seattle weather usually doesn’t help. My time indoors is usually spent sitting at my computer. I like to learn about anything and everything. I went to school for Computer Networking but have’t put my degree to use yet. Aside from various odd jobs I worked as a web designer and system administrator for couple of years. I also spent three years volunteering as a server/manager for a local non profit called Community Dinners that provided free catered sit down meals for the community and homeless.

Travel

It was a long time coming, but after a lot of thinking and deliberating I decided I wanted to travel the world solo. All my friends and family are tied down with work, kids, and life in general but I felt the need to get up and go. I often found myself looking for something greater than the 9-5 grind. For now the plan is the see what the world has to offer and share the experience though this site.

Web Design and this Site

I have been making websites since 1999. The web has changed dramatically since then. Gone are the days of geocities and table based websites made with Microsoft Front Page. Now all sites I design and maintain are crafted by hand pixel by pixel. I love keeping up with the latest technologies and web trends. There is something satisfying about teaching yourself a new concept and then putting it to practice.

This site is run on WordPress and hosted by Hostgator. CloudFlare is also used as a free CND.
